无障碍法

《不列颠哥伦比亚省无障碍法案》下的《不列颠哥伦比亚省无障碍条例》于 2022 年 9 月 1 日生效。这些条例将学校确定为规定的组织,学区和独立学校必须在 2023 年 9 月 1 日之前设立无障碍委员会、无障碍计划和接收无障碍反馈的工具。该法案的目标是改善残疾人的机会,让他们参与识别、消除和防止阻碍他们充分参与省内生活的障碍。

ACCESSIBILITY PLAN ALIGNMENT (FISA MEMBERS)

In accordance with the requirements of the Accessible British Columbia Act, St. Margaret's School is committed to identifying, removing, and preventing barriers to accessibility within its programmes, services, and facilities. As a member of the Federation of Independent School Associations in British Columbia (FISA BC), St. Margaret's School aligns its accessibility planning with the framework and resources developed by FISA to support member schools in meeting provincial accessibility requirements.

Through this collaborative approach, St. Margaret's School participates in sector-wide efforts to improve accessibility while maintaining its own feedback mechanisms and implementation practices in accordance with the Accessible BC Act and associated regulations.

SMS THREE-YEAR ACCESSIBILITY PLAN (2023–2026)

The SMS Accessibility Plan outlines the accessibility priorities of our school and how we plan to remove and prevent barriers to promote inclusion for individuals with disabilities in their school communities. Our plan is based on the Accessibility Principles of Adaptability, Collaboration, Diversity, Inclusion, Self-Determination, and Universal Design, as set out in the Accessible BC Act.

REPORT AN ACCESSIBILITY BARRIER

St. Margaret's School has developed the St. Margaret's Accessibility Barrier Form to allow members of our community to share information about their accessibility experiences.

Responses can be submitted anonymously, or you may include your name and contact information if you wish to be contacted about your submission.

Anonymous submissions don't include your name, email, or any identifying details. All reports are sent directly to the school office at info@stmarg.ca .
