St. Margaret's School is a registered non-profit society: #10802 8614 RR 0001
School fees cover the day-to-day operation of St. Margaret’s School. This is true for all independent schools in Canada. But it is through the support of our alumnae, parents, staff and friends that we are able to deliver an educational experience that is truly extraordinary.
Many individuals have contributed donations, participated in fundraising events, endowed gifts through their estate plans, and invited others to join them in giving to our school. Together we are setting a deliberate course that will be fuelled by passion and initiated through a shared desire to build a culture of giving that will have a growing impact on the vitality of our school and our capacity to meet future needs.
Our collective effort will lead to results that can be seen, felt and experienced by our students. More scholarships and bursaries can be awarded; innovations in technology can be funded; facilities can be built, environmental initiatives can be implemented; and new programs can be offered.
There are many ways to invest in our school and become part of the larger SMS philanthropic community. Your contribution will strengthen our capacity to provide a transformative experience to every girl, every year and empower the next generation of young women to change the world around them for the better.
All gifts to St. Margaret’s School are tax-deductible and are acknowledged and receipted through our Advancement Office.
"'Belief in Yourself' is an important ingredient leading to success in life. St. Margaret's offered me many educational opportunities that encouraged me to try and be the best that I could be. Success in these experiences gave me increased confidence. I look back and feel very fortunate that my parents decided to enroll me at St. Margaret's. I have many fond memories. I have made a bequest to the School of three items in my Will, with the largest being a sum of money for a scholarship fund. This fund is for the continuing support (through to graduation) of a girl entering Senior School. The successful candidate will be a student whose family could not otherwise afford to send their daughter to St. Margaret's. I want to give a deserving student with excellent academic potential an opportunity to enjoy the educational opportunities that I benefited from at St. Margaret's."

"As I always teach my kids to feel grateful, I regarded giving support to SMS as a way to show them the spirit of thanksgiving. Giving such a gift benefits not only the school, but also ourselves."
- Mr. Frank Zhu, SMS Boarding Parent
"Why give? Why not give back if you can? Any donation to SMS can be targeted to any area one wants to help – be it scholarships or facilities or technology. I see it as a privilege to help my school and our students who are so inspiring. Our students are the lifeblood of our community and they will give back in time because they know others paid it forward in their time. Is there a better motivation to give than seeing a confident student exclaim 'I can do this; all things are possible; I know I can succeed here.' Is that an echo I hear?"
