FIRST® LEGO® League (FLL®) introduces young people, ages 9 to 14 (grades 4-8), to the fun and excitement of science and technology while building self-confidence, knowledge, and valuable career and life skills. FLL challenges kids to think like scientists and engineers. Alongside adult mentors, FLL teams solve problems using engineering concepts, presentation techniques, and robots.
St. Margaret's School (SMS) was named the official affiliate partner for British Columbia in September 2015. As part of the school's overall approach to STEM education, St. Margaret's has partnered with FLL and other community organizations in order to provide local chidren access to inspiring programming in science, technology, engineering and math. In addition to organizing an annual regional championship to bring teams together from across BC to compete, SMS hopes to help new teams get startedby creating opportunities to share knowledge and collaborate with other teams.
