The SMS boarding program closes three times per year for Winter, Spring, and Summer break. During these breaks, students have the option of going home, or staying in homestay. All SMS homestay placements are short term, ranging from 1 or 2 nights over holidays, 2 weeks for spring break and exchanges, and up to 5-7 weeks in the summer.

International exchange and celebration of cultural diversity are integral elements of the St. Margaret’s experience. Homestay is a big part of the cultural experience, both for the exchange students, and host families. We strive to make it a rich and rewarding experience that allows the sharing of cultures right at home. English Language and cultural immersion are essential parts of the homestay program.
