SMS is once again participating in the 27th Annual BC Children’s Hospital Festival of Trees, hosted by the Bay Centre.

This year, the Green Club took on the task of coming up with a theme and decorating the SMS tree, which can be found at the Bay Centre downtown. The theme of this year’s tree is ‘Sustaining Our Future’, a theme that runs parallel to our upcoming STEM Conference in the Spring. To showcase our theme, members of the Green Club made decorations out of old Spirit magazines, garbage bags, tin foil sandwich wrappers, paper, pencils, old mouse pads, and more. (There are also some non-recycled elements also on the tree).

Now it’s your chance to get involved! Head down to the Bay Centre and see it transformed into a lush forest of hand-decorated trees. Share in the spirit and vote for the SMS tree, with all proceeds supporting the most urgent health care needs of kids in BC.

Event proceeds help support the Children’s Hospital’s mission to provide kids across our province with the best health care imaginable. Visit the How Your Gift Helps page for more information.

To vote: text ‘TREE048’ to 45678.

A huge thanks to the SMS landscape team of Frances and Cory who organized the project and coordinated the entire project this year.
