I started as a co-op student in the Fall of 2015 and began my role of Athletic Coordinator in Fall 2016.

Athletic Coordinator–sports, sports, sports!  But I also help coordinate all the other great clubs at SMS as well as Grade K-5 Outweek.

How many teams do you coach at SMS?
How many teams do I not coach at SMS? That’s a quicker answer!

Officially this year I was Head Coach of the Grade 6-8 basketball team; helped with Jr. Girls volleyball, MY volleyball, Senior Girls rugby 7s, Sr. Swimming, Jr Girls basketball and possibly a few others.

It is my goal every year to attend at least one competition/game for every team.

What is your favourite subject/unit to teach?
Basketball or Camp Barnard/Outweek!!

What book do you give most as a gift?
Oh the Places You’ll Go–Dr. Seuss

What other SMS staff member would you most want to be stuck on a deserted island with?

Tough question! There are so many great people that work at SMS. I’m torn between most laughs or best chance at survival.

Most Laughs: my buddy Meaghan Thompson or MT as the kids call her.

Best Chance at Survival: Donna Holmwood or Jeanine Stannard; that deserted island would quickly become like the Swiss Family Robinson minus the family, I would play Gilligan in a guest appearance.

What is your favourite food & local restaurant?
Favourite food: cheeseburgers and fries

Favourite restaurant: maybe Pagliacci’s?

What is your hobby/obsession?!

Watching Crossfit but not participating?

What is your secret talent or superpower?
I know Ode to Joy by heart on the recorder. More seriously I played Tenor Sax for 7 years.

What is one thing you can’t live without?
Trips home to Ontario!

If you could have your own Billboard, what message would you display?
“Get it, Girl!” Or “You do you!”

If you had a billion dollars, what would you be doing with your life?
Coaching kids sports and spending more time on a dock.

What are you binge watching right now, if anything?
Netflix: Dear White People and Wild Wild Country.
