Ms. Green has been at St. Margaret’s since early 2001, in the position of Executive Assistant to the Head of School. Prior to SMS, she was in management in the banking and investment industry for 16 years.
Ms. Green didn’t find banking a ‘happy’ place and coming to St. Margaret’s each morning to drop off her two daughters, she decided this is where she wanted to be. She put in her application and eventually was hired by Mr. Vic Clayton, Head of School.
Each day is very different for Ms. Green. Her role is constantly evolving and because she has been with SMS for so long, she is able to wear many hats. From assisting Mrs. Thornicroft with her daily routine, to planning events at the school and off campus, Ms. Green is kept busy.
Ms. Green loves interacting with the students of all ages. She says she especially loves it when our youngest students, the ECE class, come to the main office for a visit. Being at SMS for such a long time, Ms. Green has been able to see groups of girls who began in Kindergarten and gone right through to Grade 12 (Lifers). She finds it especially rewarding when she sees them return, years after graduating, because SMS holds special place in their heart.
Why SMS? "There are a number of staff who have worked at SMS for many years, and I have a close bond with them. Whether it’s the ladies in dining hall, teachers or support staff, they are important to me and it's another reason I enjoy coming to work each day."
