Why Give to St. Margaret's School?
For over 100 years, St. Margaret's has shaped young women into caring, confident and responsible adults who are eager to and capable of taking on leadership roles within their respective communities. Tuition covers many of our expenses, but not all. School fees cover the cost of daily operations, but when an independent school plans to build or extensively renovate facilities; develop an endowment fund to support student bursaries and scholarships; or implement innovative new programs - funds must come from well articulated development programs. These programs are founded on a strong Annual Fund Program and by Major Gift and Planned Gift Programs. St. Margaret's School relies on the generosity of many individuals to sustain current infrastructure and programs and invest in the future. By investing in St. Margaret's School you are building momentum in making our vision a reality.
Tuition Fees and past fundraising initiatives have brought St. Margaret's to its present state. Many individuals have contributed donations, participated in fundraising events, endowed gifts through their estate plans, and invited others to join them in giving to the School. Each of these contributions has helped the School create the exemplary learning environment our girls benefit from today. St. Margaret's recognizes that it is now time to increase opportunities for our current St. Margaret's community to become more involved in sustaining and building upon these successes for future generations.
The School continues to engage in conversations with individuals interested in making major and/or legacy gifts to St. Margaret's School. The School will be acknowledging individuals who have named our School in their estate plans and seek out like-minded visionaries to join the 1908 Society, introduced to honor and recognize these transformative gifts.
St. Margaret's School Advancement is setting a deliberate course that will be fuelled by passion and initiated through a collective desire to create a "culture of giving" that will have an increasing impact on the vitality and capacity of our School to meet future needs. Every tax-receiptable gift makes a difference. We invite you to become an investor in the School and part of the larger SMS philanthropic community. Your investment will ensure St. Margaret's School celebrates its 200th year anniversary in 2108 and build upon the School's legacy from this point forward.
