Admissions Application Process
The Admissions Team at St. Margaret's aims to make the application process as easy and straightforward for families as possible. Director of Admissions, Kathy Charleson, together with Gail Bateman, Admissions Assistant, work closely with families to facilitate the admissions process and endeavor to ensure that every applicant and her family feels taken care of.
The following is an outline of the requirements for applying to St. Margaret's:
Junior School
Kindergarten
- A parent interview with the Head of School or the Director of the Junior School
- A student interview/evaluation with teacher and time spent in the Kindergarten classroom
- A Reference Form completed by the Principal or Teacher at the applicant's present preschool; this form should be returned directly to St. Margaret's School by the reference person
Grades 1 - 6
- Copies of the student's most recent school report and her final report from the previous academic year
- Placement evaluation
- A parent interview with the Head of School or the Director of the Junior School
- A student interview and entrance testing with teacher and time spent in the classroom
- A Reference Form completed by the Principal or Homeroom Teacher at the applicant's present school; this form should be returned directly to St. Margaret's School by the reference person
Senior School
Grades 7 -12
- Copies of the student's most recent report and her final report from the previous academic year
- A Reference Form completed by the Principal, Teacher or Counselor at the applicant's present school; this should be returned directly to St. Margaret's by the reference person
- Placement exams in English and Math
- An interview with the Head of School or the Director of Admissions
