Financial Assistance
St. Margaret's School (SMS) believes that your daughter's education is important. In order to assist families who cannot
afford the full financial cost of an education at St. Margaret's School we offer financial assistance.
How to Apply for Financial Assistance at St. Margaret's School
Financial assistance is directly tied to the financial need of individual families. As a member of Financial Aid for
Canadian Students (FACS) operated by Apple Financial Services, our school is able to have an external organization evaluate
the financial need of individual families so that the information provided will be held in complete confidence. FACS will
provide us with a recommendation, which the SMS Financial Assistance Committee uses to decide on the level of financial
assistance to award to a particular student.
To apply for financial assistance, the family of the applicant(s) must complete the Parents' Financial Statement (
download here).
Completed forms, including a non-refundable application fee of $65 CDN, must be sent directly to Apple Financial Services for
analysis prior to consideration by the SMS Financial Aid Committee.

Application Process
Step 1
Complete the
admissions application form found in the admissions section of our website.
Step 2
a) Print the Financial Aid for Canadian Students (FACS) application form.
b) In section 13 you will need to add St. Margaret's School under "Other Schools"
c) Include copies of your most recent Canada Revenue Agency Notice of Assessment. Also include any relevant financial statements such as
if you own or are involved in a business, and any rental income you receive.
d) File one application per household, regardless of the number of students, unless you are separated or divorced (see section 22 on page 3 of FACS form).
e) Send your application directly to Apple Financial Services (make sure to keep a copy for yourself):

Step 3
a) St. Margaret's School (not Apple Financial Services) will notify you of the award decision by mail when all applications have been processed.
b) Apple Financial Services only recommends the amount of the tuition adjustment. SMS Financial Aid Committee makes the final decision.
